How much sport should a child do?
An active life is synonymous with healthy growth. The WHO recommends that children from the age of 5 should engage in "at least 60 minutes a day of moderate to vigorous physical activity." Should we do it?
How to choose the ideal sport for our children?
Active play can be a good way to get aerobic exercise, although it's important for children to engage in physical activity focused on strengthening their muscles and bones three times a week. Furthermore, sports have significant benefits not only for the body but also for the mind of children.
In Finland, for example, they go far beyond 60 minutes a day, which is why Finnish children are recognized as being among the fittest in all of Europe. This Nordic country's educational model is exemplary, with children spending more than three hours a day in school engaged in physical activity and in contact with nature.
But when we talk about physical activity, we're not referring to a regulated sport. Walking, hiking, playing in the mountains, playing in the park, or riding a bike are other ways to stay active that will benefit your little ones' development. For this, it's best to wear environmentally friendly shoes, since minimalist footwear for children encourages natural running.
